For 20 years now, Sloan have been one of the major contributors to CanRock. Singlehandedly putting East Coast Canada’s music scene on the map in 1991, the former Haligonians have left one of the better bodies of work over their three-decade run.

Now, in a new series of videos, the band have assembled an impressive cast of Sloan fans to discuss the first time they heard Sloan and the significance of that moment. Among the fans, Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew, K-Os, Buck 65, Kids In the Hall‘s Dave Foley, Death From Above 1979′s Sebastien Grainger, members of The Dears, Degrassi‘s Stefan Brogen, and Hollywood star/musician Jason Schwartzman, among others.

The video is the first in a series celebrating the 20th anniversary of Sloan, which will be unveiling nine more over the next two weeks at their Vimeo page. You can also watch the first video below.

In other news, Sloan release their tenth album, Double Cross, tomorrow. But, you can hear it now over at our First Spin section. Click here to do that.
